He is also actively engaged in investment- and wealth-planning research, and sits on the firm’s Investment and Executive Committees.

Max has been named a Top Advisor by a division of Reuters, as one of 20 advisors in the Under 40 category in the Metro New York City region. As a third-generation Long Island entrepreneur, Max was the founder of Blue Water Advisors, which merged with The Colony Group in early 2018. Previously, he was an equity research analyst at firms including Credit Suisse First Boston and Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown, where he learned the inner workings of Wall Street and securities analysis.

Max attended Colgate University, earning a degree in economics, and currently serves on the Alumni Council. With a strong commitment to continued learning, Max attended the Advest Institute at Harvard and obtained a Wharton Certificate in Retirement Planning.

In his spare time, Max enjoys traveling with his family, light-tackle and saltwater fly-fishing, skiing, boating, and volunteer firefighting in his Fire Island summer community.
