Year Up – Volunteer and Mentor

As Managing Director of Operations and a Principal of The Colony Group, Sheila Ryan is focused on building an exceptional client experience by strategically leveraging technology and continuously improving operational processes. She applies her expertise in strategic planning and implementation, business analysis and process improvement, user adoption and change management to create impactful solutions that drive operational excellence and sustainable change.

Sheila primarily has spent her 15+ year career in the wealth management space.  Most recently, Sheila had her own consulting practice focused on system implementations.  Prior to starting her own firm, Sheila was the Vice President of Strategic Planning at Loring Ward in San Jose, CA.  Sheila also was a Senior Technology Consultant within Advisor Services at Charles Schwab.

Sheila earned her Master of Business Administration from Boston College and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Babson College. She holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and is a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM). Sheila is also pursuing a Master in Organizational Psychology at William James College.

Education for young adults is incredibly important to Sheila. She has volunteered as a tutor and mentor at Year Up, an apprenticeship program for adults ages 18-24. She also has taught freshman economics and operations classes at Bay State College in Boston.

In her spare time, Sheila enjoys going for long walks or bike rides. She’s also learning how play golf for the 20th time!
