Karla serves as The Colony Group’s General Counsel. She provides legal counsel to The Colony Group focusing on operational, corporate, employment, technology, securities law, and financial management matters. Karla also provides counsel on compliance-related matters to ensure The Colony Group is fulfilling its fiduciary obligations to its clients.
Prior to joining The Colony Group, Karla was legal, and compliance counsel at Abrams Capital Management, L.P., and previously worked in various legal and compliance capacities for Geode Capital Management, LLC.
Karla earned her Juris Doctor with a concentration in Business Law and Financial Services and graduated from Suffolk University Law School, with distinction, and her Bachelor of Sciences in Neuroscience from Union College. She is a member of 100 Women in Finance and enjoys attending industry events.
When not in the office, Karla enjoys traveling and exploring the outdoors with her husband and two young children.
