John Vogelstein

John Vogelstein is a Vice-Chair, Emeritus of The Colony Group. He consults directly with the Institutional Advisory Practice team, serving select non-profit institutions and large family office clients. John also spends time analyzing economies, financial markets and specific investment opportunities.

 John co-founded New Providence Asset Management in 2003 where he served as the Chairman and was also a member of the investment team prior to their merger with The Colony Group in 2021. Prior to establishing the firm, John was President and Chief Investment Officer of Warburg Pincus LLC and remains a Special Limited Partner. In 1967, he was a partner of Lazard Freres & Co. 

He attended Harvard College and is a member of The Economic Club and The Foreign Policy Association. 

Outside of the office, John and his wife, Barbara, have an extensive collection of high-quality paintings and sculptures that they have been accumulating over the span of 20 years during their marriage. They enjoy traveling throughout Europe and Asia and try to do so as often as possible. John continues to play and enjoy playing golf.
